A 30-year-old Charlieville man is expected to appear before the South District Masters' Court after police determined that a reported kidnapping was allegedly fabricated, leading to the unnecessary deployment of law enforcement resources.
Daoud Mohammed, of Assaraf Road, Charlieville, Chaguanas, was arrested on Thursday during an operation conducted by officers of the Central Division and charged with wasteful employment of the police.
Mohammed was arrested pursuant to a warrant after officers, acting on intelligence, conducted surveillance at a location along Assaraf Road between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
