DeĀlivĀerĀing a judgĀment yesĀterĀday, Caribbean Court of JusĀtice (CCJ) presĀiĀdent WinĀston AnĀderĀson and JusĀtices MauĀreen RaĀjĀnauth-Lee, Denys BarĀrow, PeĀter JaĀmadar and ChanĀtal OnonĀaiĀwu upĀheld RamĀsamoojās lawĀsuit over the leĀgalĀiĀty of the conĀdiĀtions of his deĀtenĀtion.
SumĀmarisĀing the panĀelās deĀciĀsion, JusĀtice AnĀderĀson said that RamĀsamoojās deĀtenĀtion unĀder a ābeperkĀing orĀderā was unĀlawĀful as it breached his right to freeĀdom of moveĀment as a CariĀcom naĀtionĀal unĀder the ReĀvised Treaty of ChĀaguaraĀmas (RTC).
