A 33-year-old man was shot and killed near his home at Boothill, Trou Macaque, Laventille Wednesday.

He was identified as Jevon Hope, but police said that he had legally changed his name from Jevon Phillips several years ago.

Police added that Hope was not known to be involved in anything illegal, but they suspect that he had been ambushed and killed to “send a message” to a relative.
