(Kaieteur News) – A woman was robbed on Saturday night shortly after leaving the national stadium at Providence, East Bank Demerara (EBD), where she had attended the Global Super League (GSL) Final between the Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) and the San Francisco Unicorns (SFU).

According to the woman, she had called a taxi to pick her up at the stadium, but the driver later contacted her and asked that she leave the venue and walk to meet him because traffic was too heavy for him to get through.

“…I was hesitant and explained that I didn’t feel safe walking at night, but I eventually agreed,” she wrote in a public Facebook post.
