(Kaieteur News) – Police ranks can no longer point to low salaries as a reason for accepting bribes, especially given the promotions and welfare investments government has made over the past five years. This is according to Minister of Home Affairs, Oniedge Waldron while speaking on an online podcast on Sunday.
Minister Waldron said the government continues to invest billions of dollars into local law enforcement agencies to enhance capacity and professionalism in order to better serve the public.
She said therefore, there is no place for officers who engage in misconduct.
