Jamaican striker Khadija Shaw was among the goalscorers as Manchester City secured a commanding 4-0 win over Brighton in the Women’s FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
The win secured a historic domestic double for City, as they completed both the Barclays Women’s Super League title and the FA Cup in the same season for the first time in the club’s history. According to FotMob, only two other clubs have previously achieved the feat in English women’s football.
As the match got underway, Brighton applied early pressure but City gradually took control with Shaw breaking the deadlock in the 38th minute, heading home from an Alex Greenwood cross to give her side the lead.
