A veteran of the US Armed Forces has said the crew allegedly killed by US military troops at sea off Venezuela received warnings in three languages (Spanish, English and Portuguese) to stop.
However, Luis Quiñonez added they ignored the warnings which led to the deaths of 11, whom the US government said were members of the Venezuela-based Tren de Aragua gang.
He said the crew even tried to hit the military helicopter that was telling them to surrender.
