An investigation is underway after intruders broke into the Malick Secondary School compound during the early hours of Sunday.
The Ministry of Education confirmed that a group of unidentified individuals unlawfully entered the premises and reportedly ambushed two on-duty security officers. The matter has been referred to both supervisory personnel and the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS).
Minister of Education Dr Michael Dowlath said the ministry was working with the TTPS, MTS Security Services and other agencies to support the investigation. In the meantime, steps are being taken to strengthen the school’s security infrastructure, including improved perimeter fencing, enhanced lighting, and a review of patrol protocols.
