The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service says investigations into a cargo aircraft at Piarco International Airport have found that no laws were breached by the aircraft or its operators.
Following consultations with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and completion of local and international checks, the aircraft and crew were cleared to leave Trinidad and Tobago and continue their journey.
However, police say the matter has prompted a separate national security investigation into how an aircraft carrying volatile cargo was able to land without prior authorization during the current State of Emergency.
