The fire that scorched the Globe City Plaza, Chase Village, on Tuesday was completely extinguished by firefighters who tended to the blaze for at least nine hours. In its aftermath, three businesses have been left destroyed.
Deputy Chief Fire Officer Ansar Ali told the Express yesterday that the fire had been dealt with by 7 p.m. on Tuesday, but official investigations into its damage and cause are still ongoing.
He confirmed that the three businesses located at the eastern side of the complex had been burnt, however, firefighting efforts had managed to contain the flames early, avoiding its spread to the nearby mall of businesses, a hardware at the front and a foam factory at the back.
