SOME of the businesses housed at the landmark Globe City Plaza in Chase Village, Chaguanas, have reopened following a massive fire on May 5.
The Express visited the site yesterday and discovered that the wholesale store, however, located on the eastern end of the compound, operated by Chinese nationals, remained closed. The business, the Express was told, estimated losses in the millions, and had shifted to another location along the Southern Main Road in Chase Village.
Speaking briefly to the Express yesterday, Globe City proprietor Vijay Jaglal said the business could not be reopened after it was “burned down”. Asked whether the business had been shifted elsewhere, Jaglal said he could not comment, as he was not associated with the wholesale store.
