A St James farmer has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon following the seizure of a firearm during a police operation in the parish earlier this month.
Charged is 32-year-old Malachi Gayle, otherwise called 'Buma', of Barnett Bush in the parish.
According to the police, officers were conducting an operation along Springfield Main Road on June 3 when they signalled the driver of a Toyota Mark X motor car to stop. Gayle reportedly complied.
