VanÂdals stole elecÂtriÂcal caÂbles and conÂtrol equipÂment from the WaÂter and SewÂerÂage AuÂthorÂiÂty’s (WASA) Scott’s Road Well #1 over the weekÂend, cutÂting waÂter supÂply to thouÂsands of cusÂtomers in south Trinidad.
The AuÂthorÂiÂty conÂfirmed the inÂciÂdent ocÂcurred overnight on SatÂurÂday and has left apÂproxÂiÂmateÂly 4,000 cusÂtomers along PeÂnal Rock Road and Siparia afÂfectÂed.
WASA said reÂpair crews are carÂryÂing out exÂtenÂsive elecÂtriÂcal works to reÂstore opÂerÂaÂtions at the faÂcilÂiÂty and exÂpect the job to be comÂpletÂed by 8 p.m. on TuesÂday, SepÂtemÂber 9.
