Van­dals stole elec­tri­cal ca­bles and con­trol equip­ment from the Wa­ter and Sew­er­age Au­thor­i­ty’s (WASA) Scott’s Road Well #1 over the week­end, cut­ting wa­ter sup­ply to thou­sands of cus­tomers in south Trinidad.

The Au­thor­i­ty con­firmed the in­ci­dent oc­curred overnight on Sat­ur­day and has left ap­prox­i­mate­ly 4,000 cus­tomers along Pe­nal Rock Road and Siparia af­fect­ed.

WASA said re­pair crews are car­ry­ing out ex­ten­sive elec­tri­cal works to re­store op­er­a­tions at the fa­cil­i­ty and ex­pect the job to be com­plet­ed by 8 p.m. on Tues­day, Sep­tem­ber 9.
