Act­ing Deputy Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice (DCP), Op­er­a­tions, Curt Si­mon, has or­dered an au­dit in­to all po­lice uni­forms, ve­hi­cles and com­put­ers be­long­ing to the T&T Po­lice Ser­vice (TTPS).

He said, yes­ter­day, it had be­come nec­es­sary af­ter he re­ceived cer­tain in­for­ma­tion which paved the way for de­tailed and thor­ough checks to be done, “To de­ter­mine if any­thing is miss­ing or un­ac­count­ed for, or if every­thing is cor­rect and reg­u­lar.”

The an­nounce­ment of the au­dit came af­ter po­lice of­fi­cers as­signed to the Guard and Emer­gency Branch, lo­cat­ed at Gar­den Road in Aranguez, re­port­ed uni­forms and oth­er items be­ing stolen from their lock­ers in the last week.
