The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has officially declared the start of the 2026 Dry Season, noting that atmospheric conditions over the region have transitioned into a drier state following a gradual shift from the Wet Season.
In a statement issued on Thursday morning, TTMS said recent climatic patterns — including a strengthening North Atlantic Sub-Tropical High-Pressure system and a shift in upper-level winds to mostly westerlies — have resulted in fewer showery and rainy conditions across Trinidad and Tobago.
The Dry Season is typically marked by reduced moisture, increased atmospheric stability, fewer deep cloud formations and less frequent rainfall, along with warm days, cooler nights and stronger trade winds. TTMS said these conditions are now being observed locally.
