Former World Champion Antonio Watson and Stacey-Ann Williams both earned their maiden national senior titles on Sunday when they won the men’s and women’s 400m at the JAAA national championships at the National Stadium.
Watson won with a splendid 44.73 seconds clocking, his fastest time since 2023 when he shocked the world to win the World Championships gold medal in Budapest.
He came off the bend just ahead and held on to the lead to get to the finish line first with Delano Kennedy second with 45.11 seconds and Zaveir Brown third with 45.26 seconds.
