The Auditor General has identified several areas of concern in relation to the operations of the Housing Development Corporation.
In her latest report, Auditor General Jaiwantie Ramdass noted that funds allocated for housing development were utilised for other expenses, including maintenance activities such as grass cutting, drain works and waste management.
The report indicates that expenditure by the HDC was, in some instances, made outside of the originally approved purpose of the funds, raising concerns about adherence to established financial guidelines.
