Caribbean Air­lines has warned pas­sen­gers to ex­pect de­lays on some of its jet ser­vices to­day due to a re­gion­al satel­lite com­mu­ni­ca­tions out­age af­fect­ing the SI­TA sys­tem.

In a me­dia re­lease is­sued this morn­ing, the air­line said, “The is­sue is not unique to Caribbean Air­lines and is af­fect­ing ALL air­lines us­ing this sys­tem.”

On­ly flights op­er­at­ed by the air­line’s Boe­ing 737-8 fleet have been af­fect­ed so far, with de­lays re­port­ed on sev­er­al re­gion­al and in­ter­na­tion­al routes. Some pas­sen­gers have faced dis­rup­tions of up to four hours.
