The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) says it has adopted a heightened security posture in response to recent developments in Venezuela, stressing that the measures are precautionary and there is no need for public alarm.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the TTPS said it has been closely monitoring the evolving regional situation and has already activated a series of strategic operational measures aimed at safeguarding national security and public safety.
“The responsibility of the TTPS is to anticipate risks, maintain public confidence, and ensure that Trinidad and Tobago remains safe and secure during periods of uncertainty,” the statement said, noting that the actions form part of the Service’s ongoing mandate.
