On Carnival Monday, officers seized several weapons and arrested a man during an anti-crime operation at San Fernando J’Ouvert celebrations.
Between 8:30 a.m. and noon, police stopped and searched several individuals carrying strapped chest bags, leading to the seizure of nine knives and an ice pick.
Officers also arrested a 42-year-old man from Otaheite Fishing Village for possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, and possession of 112 grams of marijuana. The suspect, known to law enforcement for firearm and robbery offences, remains under investigation.
