On Car­ni­val Mon­day, of­fi­cers seized sev­er­al weapons and ar­rest­ed a man dur­ing an an­ti-crime op­er­a­tion at San Fer­nan­do J’Ou­vert cel­e­bra­tions.

Be­tween 8:30 a.m. and noon, po­lice stopped and searched sev­er­al in­di­vid­u­als car­ry­ing strapped chest bags, lead­ing to the seizure of nine knives and an ice pick.

Of­fi­cers al­so ar­rest­ed a 42-year-old man from Ota­heite Fish­ing Vil­lage for pos­ses­sion of a weapon, re­sist­ing ar­rest, and pos­ses­sion of 112 grams of mar­i­jua­na. The sus­pect, known to law en­force­ment for firearm and rob­bery of­fences, re­mains un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion.
