ST JAMES, Jamaica — Two men were shot dead by police in separate alleged armed confrontations on Monday, adding to Jamaica’s mounting toll of fatal security-force encounters.
The first shooting occurred shortly after daybreak in Spanish Town, St Catherine, where an unidentified man was killed during a police operation in the Long Lane area of March Pen Road.
According to police, lawmen were conducting a cordon-and-search operation at about 8:15 am when they approached a premises and saw a man standing in the doorway.
