Election workers at a mock polling station along Upper Mt Hope Road, Mt Hope, were frightened yesterday, after gunshots were fired less than 150 feet from where they were stationed.
Indicating that the incident occurred around 1.15 pm near Sunset Drive and Mt Hope Road, one woman said, “It left us a bit shaky and uneasy. It is not something we are accustomed to at this time.”
A second woman said it had left them a bit fearful, while another chimed in, “I find they too idle ... hot, hot sun, so?”
