Elec­tion work­ers at a mock polling sta­tion along Up­per Mt Hope Road, Mt Hope, were fright­ened yes­ter­day, af­ter gun­shots were fired less than 150 feet from where they were sta­tioned.

In­di­cat­ing that the in­ci­dent oc­curred around 1.15 pm near Sun­set Dri­ve and Mt Hope Road, one woman said, “It left us a bit shaky and un­easy. It is not some­thing we are ac­cus­tomed to at this time.”

A sec­ond woman said it had left them a bit fear­ful, while an­oth­er chimed in, “I find they too idle ... hot, hot sun, so?”
