RIO DE JANEIRO,Ā Brazil (AFP) ā Brazilās National Data Protection Agency (ANPD) said Tuesday it had imposed a fine of nearly US$30 million on TikTok for āirregularities in the processing of data belonging to children and adolescentsā.
In addition to the fine of 153.7 million reais (US$29.9 million), the agency ordered parent company ByteDance to ādelete the data collected in violation of regulationsā.
TikTok has committed to āimplementing a compliance plan to improve the protection of children and adolescentsā, the ANPD said.
