Attorneys representing murder accused Rajaee Ali have filed for judicial review, challenging his removal from the Maximum Security Prison (MSP) and subsequent detention at the Teteron Army Base, Chaguaramas, following the July 18 declaration of a state of emergency in Trinidad and Tobago.
Ali, a first division prisoner, was transferred without prior notice to his legal team or family, his attorneys argue.
According to court documents filed on July 25, his transfer and conditions of detention are unlawful and in breach of constitutional rights.
