A 21-year-old man, identified as Omar Mohammed, was shot and killed near his home in Cocorite early this morning.

Police reported that around 7:30 a.m., residents of Powder Magazine heard gunshots near the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) apartment block, Building Six. When they investigated, they found Mohammed’s body, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers from the St. James CID, Region One Homicide Bureau, and the Crime Scene Unit responded and processed the area. The body was later transported to the Forensic Science Centre in Federation Park.
