A special reserve municipal police officer was being questioned up to last night about the death of SRP Jamal Charles, who sustained a fatal gunshot injury on Thursday while on duty at the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government in Maraval.

The incident occurred around 3.15 p.m. in a guard booth adjacent to the ministry’s main building at Kent House.

Police said Charles and two other officers were inside the booth, having a conversation.
