The ConĀgress of the PeoĀple (COP) has called for due process to be obĀserved folĀlowĀing the arĀrest and chargĀing of HousĀing MinĀisĀter David Lee and busiĀnessĀman Hugh Leong Poi.
In a brief stateĀment, COP chairĀman LonsĀdale Williams said the parĀty acĀknowlĀedges the charges but mainĀtains that all perĀsons are inĀnoĀcent unĀless proven guilty and that the law must take its course.
The call came a day afĀter PeoĀpleās NaĀtionĀal MoveĀment (PNM) PoĀlitĀiĀcal Leader PeneĀlope BeckĀles urged Prime MinĀisĀter KamĀla PerĀsad-BissesĀsar to say whether Lee will reĀmain in CabĀiĀnet while facĀing crimĀiĀnal charges.
