Minister of Housing and Urban Development Camille Robinson-Regis says the Government has undertaken a $113 million project to construct 500 housing units as part of its squatter regularisation plan.
This, after the Commissioner of State Lands and police moved into a squatting settlement at Ramjattan Trace, off Tumpuna Road, Arima, and bulldozed 12 illegal structures earlier this month.
Speaking yesterday at a key-distribution ceremony at the City Hall auditorium in San Fernando, Robinson-Regis said the houses would be constructed on State and private lands.
