A police officer was assaulted and robbed by his estranged girlfriend of items valued at almost $5,000.
According to a police report, around 12.21 p.m. on Tuesday the 40-year-old victim from Cunupia reported he was proceeding in a northerly direction along Southern Main Road, Cunupia in his vehicle in company with his estranged girlfriend, a 30-year-old woman from Enterprise, Chaguanas whom he had accompanied to a doctor appointment.
The victim said upon reaching the vicinity of St Anthony’s Park an argument ensued and when he slowed down due to traffic, she dealt him a slap to the left side of his face and grabbed his grey Ted Baker glasses along with his black Adidas cap together valued TT $4,932.25.
