Former Trinidad and Tobago Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Rodney Charles, is warning that countries which have strongly aligned themselves with US President Donald Trump could face political and diplomatic fallout if the balance of power shifts in Washington following the November mid-term elections.
Charles, a former Naparima MP for the United National Congress (UNC), believes the Kamla Persad-Bissessar administration should begin preparing now for that possibility, arguing that the political winds in the United States could change significantly if Democrats make major gains in Congress.
