(Kaieteur News) – The Guyana Power and Light on Friday renewed operation and management contracts with two companies, Power Producers and Distributors Inc. (PPDI) and APAN Energy Services Inc. for the continued operation and management of four power plants.
“Under the renewed O&M contracts, APAN Energy Services Inc. will continue to operate and maintain the 28.9-megawatt Power Plant at Columbia, while PPDI will continue to operate and maintain the Kingston, Garden of Eden and Vreed-en-Hoop Power Plants, which have a combined generation capacity of 106 Megawatts,” GPL said.
The facilities in question, collectively play a critical role in meeting the electricity demand and supporting a reliable supply of electricity to consumers. The contracts were signed by head of GPL’s Executive Management Committee Kesh Nandlall, Plant Manager, APAN Energy Services Inc Ronald Cheruiyot and Chief Executive Officer of PPDI Dr. Brian Sukhai.
