(Kaieteur News) – The Guyana Power and Light Incorporated (GPL) on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to advance power generation, renewable energy and smart electricity infrastructure in Guyana.
In a statement, GPL said that the Global South Utilities (GSU) delegation arrived for a meeting with President Irfaan Ali and engaged in talks with stakeholders from both the private and public sectors before the MoU was signed with GPL.
“The agreement was signed by Head of GPL’s Executive Management Committee, Kesh Nandlall, and Chief Executive Officer of Global South Utilities, Ali Abdulla Ali Mohammed Alshimmari, establishing a framework for cooperation in three priority areas: power generation, renewable energy, and smart electricity infrastructure,” the company said.
