Caribbean Airlines has announced the temporary suspension of all flights between Trinidad and Caracas, Venezuela for the month of September. The affected services include flights BW 300 and BW 301 on September 6, 13, 20, and 27.
Passengers impacted by the suspension may rebook without change fees or request refunds through Caribbean Airlines’ call centres, ticket offices, or travel agents. The airline said all updates will be provided via its website and social media platforms.
The decision comes against the backdrop of heightened tensions between Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela following a U.S. military strike on September 1 in the southern Caribbean. The strike destroyed a vessel en route from Sucre State to Trinidad, reportedly killing 11 people. Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has publicly supported the action, which was described as part of ongoing regional anti-narcotics operations.
