AN Arouca woman who called on Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro to kill Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar in a viral TikTok video has been discharged on a bond after offering a tearful public apology.
Alianna Samaroo, 30, of Laurel Hill Extension, Five Rivers, reappeared virtually before Magistrate Marisa Gomez for sentencing yesterday afternoon. She had previously pleaded guilty to a charge of making a statement prejudicial to public order, contrary to Regulation 11 of the Emergency Powers Regulations 2025.
During the hearing, Samaroo read a prepared statement to the court, expressing remorse for her actions.
