(Kaieteur News) – Guyana’s athletics team underlined its dominance at the 2026 Inter Guiana Games (IGG), producing a series of commanding performances at the Andre Kamperveen Stadium in Paramaribo.
The defending champions established a sizeable advantage during the opening day of competition and returned on Sunday determined to put the finishing touches to another impressive title defence.
The dominance began in the Girls’ 3000m, where Esther McKinnon led a Guyanese one-two finish in 12:18.16, with Areana Bart second in 12:55.89.
