Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has accused the Opposition People’s National Movement (PNM) of having ties to the local drug mafia which finances its operations and therefore wanted to protect them.
The Prime Minister made the accusation as she fired back at critics of the visit by a US Navy warship to Trinidad and Tobago.
She further accused the PNM of creating hysteria and undermining national efforts to combat crime.
