THE Siparia East/San Francique South seat was declared vacant two weeks after the tragic death of local government councillor Romona Victor.
The decision to hold a by-election for the electoral district within the Siparia Regional Corporation remains in the hands of Prime Minister and political leader of the United National Congress (UNC) Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
So said Siparia Mayor Doodnath Mayhroo, stating that the seat was declared vacant on December 2.
