Three Brazilian nationals have been charged in connection with the offence of trespassing on aerodrome property at the Lethem Airstrip in Central Rupununi, Region Nine (Upper Takutu – Upper Essequibo). Those charged were Jose Carlos Casto Bibeiro, Clebson Raoni and Lucis Silva Marth. They were charged with trespassing on the aerodrome, contrary to Section 83(1) of the Civil Aviation Act 2018. The offence was allegedly committed on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the Lethem Airstrip in Central Rupununi. The trio appeared on Friday before Magistrate Omadatt Chandan at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court. The charge was read and translated to them by a court-appointed translator. The matter has been adjourned for continuation of proceedings.
