5.1 lbs of ganja found after motorcycle chase

(Kaieteur News) – Police in Regional Division #10 are investigating the discovery of 2.325 kilograms (5.1 pounds) of suspected cannabis following a motorcycle chase in the Bosai Bauxite Mines area, Upper Demerara River, on Wednesday night.

At about 19:45hrs, police ranks on patrol near the entrance to the airstrip reportedly observed two men riding separate XR motorcycles, each carrying bulky bags on their backs. According to police, the men rode towards the airstrip after noticing the police vehicle. Ranks gave chase, during which one of the riders lost control of his motorcycle and fell.

The man reportedly abandoned the motorcycle and fled into nearby bushes, leaving behind a camouflage bag. The second rider managed to escape on his motorcycle.
