A 42-year-old man was shot and killed while a 38-year-old woman sustained injuries in an apparent revenge attack along Upper Wharf Trace, Maracas, St. Joseph, on Monday afternoon.

The deceased, Kerwyn Sammerson, also known as “Bellyez,” of LP 64 Upper Wharf Trace, Maracas, was pronounced dead at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex after sustaining a gunshot wound to the head. The woman was treated for a gunshot injury to her buttock.

Police reported that earlier on the same day, the suspect and another individual had been involved in an altercation during which both parties sustained chop injuries. The other individual sought medical attention at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.
