The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has confirmed that Trinbago Knight Riders captain Nicholas Pooran has been charged with a Level 1 offence under the CPL Code of Conduct for showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during the Eliminator match against the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons.
The incident occurred during a high-stakes clash, where Pooran was twice adjudged leg-before wicket by on-field umpire Ryan Banwarie, both decisions overturned on review. The emotional reactions that followed led to the charge under the league’s disciplinary code.
Pooran has accepted the sanction, which includes a fine of 20% of his match fee.
