Police are investigating the discovery of a decomposed body found early Monday inside an abandoned government building on Wrightson Road, Port of Spain.
Around 6.30 a.m., an anonymous passer-by alerted the police to a strong foul smell coming from the old Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries Surveys and Mapping Division building. Officers from the Central Police Station responded.
With assistance from security personnel, officers entered the structure and found the body of a man on the northern side of the building. The deceased, who remains unidentified, was of African descent, wore dreadlocks, and was dressed in brown long pants. He was found lying on his back and was shirtless.
