The Prime Minister’s Pension (Amendment) Bill, 2025, was passed in the House of Representatives yesterday without support from the People’s National Movement (PNM) Opposition.
Just before 6 p.m., a vote was taken by House Speaker Jagdeo Singh, with 27 Government members voting in favour while 11 Opposition members abstained. The two Tobago People’s Party (TPP) MPs voted in support—Tobago West MP Joel Sampson and Tobago East MP David Thomas.
Two of the 13 Opposition members—Port of Spain North/St Ann’s West MP Stuart Young and Trincity/Maloney MP Camille Robinson-Regis—were absent.
