(Kaieteur News) – Two weeks ago, I delivered a TED Talk on democracy. My central argument was that democracy is not plug-and-play and it does not thrive simply because we adopt elections or constitutions. Like any living system, it depends on conditions.

Since then, I have found myself immersed in a very different, but deeply connected, conversation.
