The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) says it is stepping up efforts to combat vandalism and theft targeting critical infrastructure after a 42-year-old man appeared before the courts in connection with a stolen pipe investigation.
According to WASA, the accused was charged with receiving stolen goods following investigations led by the Authority’s Police Unit.
The charge relates to the alleged theft of fourteen lengths of ductile double-flange pipes owned by WASA and valued at approximately TT$189,000.
