Cricket West Indies has announced a 15-member squad for the T20 International series against Nepal, scheduled to take place at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates from September 27 to 30.
The series is historic as it marks the first bilateral T20 series between the two teams and will be played outside of the International Cricket Council’s Future Tours Programme. It has been identified by selectors as an opportunity to introduce new players to international competition in preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup in 2026, which will be held in subcontinent conditions.
Selectors have included several players who performed in the inaugural West Indies Breakout League and the current Caribbean Premier League. Six potential debutants are part of the squad. At the same time, a number of senior players have been rested.
