Minister in the Ministry of Public Utilities Clyde Elder claimed he was misquoted by some sections of the media and never said that trade unions which did not support the UNC government should not get the ten per cent increase that the Public Services Association (PSA) got.
The PSA campaigned openly and heavily with the UNC in the run-up to the April 28 general elections.
He previously told media that other unions will now face challenges in reopening negotiations.
