THE Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Social and Welfare Association (TTPSSWA) says it expects a wage increase following yesterday’s signing of an agreement between the Public Services Association (PSA) and the Chief Personnel Officer for a 10% increase.
So said TTPSSWA president ASP Ishmael Pitt while discussing the issue on the TV6 Morning Edition programme yesterday.
Pitt also criticised the Minister in the Ministry of Public Utilities and former secretary general of the Communication Workers’ Union Clyde Elder, who voiced his opposition to the reopening of negotiations for other unions last week. Pitt expressed disappointment in the minister’s statement about reopening negotiations because Elder was previously a trade unionist who represented workers’ rights.
