The Peo­ple’s Na­tion­al Move­ment (PNM) To­ba­go Coun­cil has com­plet­ed its screen­ing process and se­lect­ed 15 can­di­dates to con­test the up­com­ing To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA) elec­tions.

The process be­gan in June and in­volved 35 in­di­vid­u­als of­fer­ing them­selves for ser­vice across the is­land’s 15 elec­toral dis­tricts. The fi­nal screen­ing ses­sion took place ear­li­er this week.

In a press re­lease is­sued on Ju­ly 31, the par­ty said the can­di­dates were cho­sen af­ter what it de­scribed as a “rig­or­ous and par­tic­i­pa­to­ry process.” It said the fi­nal slate rep­re­sents a dy­nam­ic blend of youth and ex­pe­ri­ence, com­pris­ing peo­ple of di­verse back­grounds and a proven record of ser­vice to To­ba­go and the wider coun­try.
