Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has announced that 30 joint army-police posts will be established in communities across Trinidad and Tobago over the next four months, as part of the Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen security presence nationwide.

“I am pleased to inform citizens that in the upcoming four months, 30 joint army police posts will be placed in communities across the country,” the Prime Minister said, noting that many communities have for years requested an increased security presence. “The protective services and government are moving aggressively to provide such,” she said.

According to the Prime Minister, the joint posts are intended to provide communities with a sense of comfort and help residents regain the use of their public spaces. She encouraged NGOs, business chambers, community groups and councils to adopt and support the posts, working alongside the security services.
